Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) promotes health, safety, and environmental compliance within the U-M campus community.

Previously, state law mandated that sharps containers must be shipped for disposal within 90 days of the accumulation start date,  even if the container was not full. 

Now, state law allows for a sharps container to be used until it is 3/4 full but no longer than 18 months from the date of first sharps were added to the container.
