Hazardous Situations

All U-M faculty, staff, students and other employees are responsible for learning about the risk factors in their workplace and implementing the associated precautions to prevent injuring themselves and others.  Workplace risk factors include:

  • Respiratory hazards
  • Physical hazards
  • Equipment hazards
  • Ionizing radiation

EHS helps ensure the U-M remains in compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to worker safety.  Part of this responsibility includes providing training, guidance, and oversight for you when you work with or around these hazards.  In addition, EHS is available to answer questions and verify your workplace is in compliance. For more information, contact EHS at (734) 647-1143.
