The EHS Building Code Inspection program is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications for all building projects at the U-M including the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses, and the Michigan Medicine facilities.
The Building Code Inspection program:
- Inspects all construction projects, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building aspects, to ensure all the work done is in compliance with the rules and regulation specified in the Codes and Regulatory Agencies guideline published by U-M AEC.
- Completes the final occupancy inspection and issues a Certificate of Occupancy for the project if no code violations are noted and final electrical and mechanical certificates are issued.
