A recent product advisory for 1,2-Dimethoxyethane (DME) Item No. 259527, Lot/Batch SHBK8753 was issued by the manufacturer, Millipore Sigma.
This material poses a safety risk due to failing Hydrogen Peroxide testing (Specification is <15ppm, Result = 256ppm).
Required Action – Immediately examine your inventory for DME. If you have this product, place the container in an area where it will not be disturbed (fume hood, a bench that’s not used often, etc) notify lab members and anyone that shares the space, and then request a pick up from Hazmat by calling 3-4568.
